5 Tips for Managing Remote Data Centers
Modern data centers have changed a lot in the past few years. Their scope has changed so that they now house data, voice and power services. This concentration of services means that most IT staff are now based at main data centers. These staff no longer get placed into technical silos and will be cross-trained on many technologies.
One of the fallouts from this is that days of having local IT staff based at locations which host a small number of services and applications are gone. Without a local IT person it can become expensive and time consuming to troubleshoot and fix issues.
