Integration with SolarWinds Orion

Enhance your SolarWinds Orion® implementation with deep-packet traffic analysis and integrated user information.
Orion Network Performance Monitor software from SolarWinds gives the network engineer a single point of access to performance information for the devices connected to a network, including servers, clients, routers, and switches. With Orion, it is possible to monitor the status of the devices themselves and their utilization of the network. The network engineer can see at a glance the overall network status, with the option to drill down into more detailed information about the status of specific devices.
LANGuardian provides full packet capture and deep packet inspection of network traffic. With DPI, network engineers can get the highest level of visibility into activity on the network — such as actual web pages accessed, files read and deleted, mail header fields, and the content of database queries. Because LANGuardian connects to the core switch on a network, it can monitor and report on internal network activity such as access to intranet servers and file shares. LANGuardian also integrates with Windows and Active Directory, enabling it to produce reports that feature real user names instead of IP addresses.
LANGuardian complements SolarWinds Orion and extends its capability by generating traffic-based reports that can integrate seamlessly into Orion dashboards. By displaying traffic-based data from LANGuardian side-by-side with its own device- based data, Orion provides a single point of access to all the information a network engineer needs to monitor and troubleshoot a network.
Seamless integration with Orion
Integrating LANGuardian with Orion is easy, involving two simple steps:
- In LANGuardian, set up the report the way you want it to appear in the Orion user interface.
- In the Orion user interface, create a custom HTML resource and add the code created by LANGuardian.
And that’s it.
